We had 37 entries this past Sunday April
30th on a demanding PBA TOC Pattern
(39 feet). Lanndyn Carnate of Modesto
was the high qualifier with a 1326 score (a
221 average).
It took 1249 to make the stepladder final
(a 208 average), and 1168 to cash (a 194
average). In the step-ladder finals it was
the 3rd qualifier Noel Vasquez of Elk
Grove who took control. He first defeated
#5 qualifier Ron Case of Antioch, 183 to
181. Then he defeated #2 qualifier Wayne
Garber of Modesto 217 to 191. And then
defeated #1 qualifier Lanndyn Carnate 223
to 191. For Noel who is also a 2 time TOC
Winner, this is his 14th overall
Yosemite Lanes 6 Gamer Title, which is
2nd all time in Yosemite Lanes 6 gamer
history. Yosemite Lanes 6 gamer have
been once a month since 1999.

Custer Elected to Modesto
Bowling Hall of Fame
Rich Custer has been elected for induction into the Modesto Bowling Hall of
Fame. Custer was nominated in the Superior Ability category and his accom-
plishments are impressive. For starters, he holds the high three-game series in
Modesto with an 899 set on games of 299-300-300. He has posted seventy-
nine 300 games, fifty-two 800 series’ and two 1,100 series’. He has been the
Modesto USBC annual high average male bowler five times, three times aver-
aging 245. Custer earned the Modesto Scratch Champion twice, Scratch 6-
Gamer Money List twice as well as taking titles or placing in city and state
events.
John Santillano was named the recipient of the prestigious Pioneer Award for
2017. Santillano earned recognition for his long-time service as secretary of the
Telco League. He has held this position for 28 years. The league members
have relied on his leadership, organizational skills and honesty through the
years. Both Custer and Santillano will be honored at the upcoming Modesto
USBC Awards and Installation Dinner in September
