USA Bowling National Tournament
Teams do not have to be members of a USA Bowling
league to participate in the regional events.
There will be two divisions at each USA Bowling Re-
gional – Under 12 (born Aug. 1, 2004 or later) and Un-
der 15 (born between Aug. 1, 2001 and July 31, 2004).
Rosters can have up to six bowlers though only four will
compete at a time.
The two-day regional start with eight round-robin Baker
matches to determine seeding for tiered brackets. On
the second day of competition, teams compete in a dou-
ble-elimination match play bracket, also using the Baker
format in which team members alternate frames. Each
match is best-of-three games and competition continues
until each tiered bracket has a winner.

The Dexter/USBC High School All-American Team has

Dexter Bowling and IBC Youth will continue to work to-
gether to determine the five male and five female USBC
High School members for the team.
Each high school bowler selected receives a $1,000
scholarship and the team is honored at the Junior Gold
Championships in July.
―It is important for Dexter Bowling to continue to award
the achievements of high school bowlers,‖ Dexter Bowl-
ing Vice President Bud Clapsaddle said. ―During the
past 11 years, the Dexter/USBC High School All-
American Team annually has showcased 10 student-
athletes who have made a tremendous impact for their
schools on the lanes and in their communities. We‘re
excited to continue our partnership with IBC Youth to
recognize outstanding student-athletes.‖
―We appreciate Dexter Bowling for its continued com-
mitment to high school and collegiate bowling,‖ said
Gary Brown, IBC Youth Development Managing Direc-
tor. ―High school bowling has seen tremendous growth
since the first Dexter/USBC High School All-American
Team was selected more than a decade ago and the
team has become an integral part of the program.‖
Selection is based on the student-athlete‘s high school
bowling accomplishments, academic achievement, rec-
ommendations, extracurricular and community involve-
ment, submitted essays and resumes. Bowlers must be
nominated by their high school coach or athletic director.
