Columbia 300 brings you the new Speed. We started with the successful Power Torq and set out to create a solid asymmetric motion, perfect for a first ball out of the bag or when symmetric balls like the Power Torq are too clean. The strength of the Speed comes from the all-new cover and core combination. The new Formula 1 cover uses chemistry similar to the popular ERT formulation, but our chemists used a new additive that promotes stronger adhesion throughout the entire lane. We combined the Formula 1 cover with the new super aggressive Shifter core to ensure significantly more overall hook than the Power Torq.

Need for Speed - Collegiate Bowler Review

It's been a minute since I've been able to do a review. In my time off, I haven't been this impressed with a high-end bowling ball in a while. Particularly because I feel like most Brunswick brand balls tend to be very early out of the box. For me, it takes a few shots to break in the cover.

Anyway, I try my best to not get too caught up in the tech specs. However, the new Formula 1 cover is legit. This cover is cleaner than most sanded hybrids are and this one was a high-end motion I haven't seen. It's early, flares a lot, and is still angular. What that tells me is that the ball is constantly reading and still retaining energy to go through the pins right. To further describe it, my college team bowled on a pattern with a lot of mLs. Most of my teammates were going up the ditch while I was able to play in the puddle and play a house-shot line. Basically saying this ball could handle oil. It put me at a big advantage because I wasn't crossing with the urethane traffic, I had a whole line to myself.

I know this is a lengthy review, I just really like this ball. Compared to other big balls like the Trailblazer, Maximum Results, Strata Solid, this for me will be the strongest/earliest ball in my bag. I highly recommend this piece!
