The $99 mystery ball is fun. I didn't get what I was hoping for but still a great value as you save $50 on a newer ball. They read my personalization note but still did not get urethane sadly. I feel like I wasted $10 on the note as it didn't even matter.

I put in a pretty full personalized note, and they sent me a DV8 Troublemaker, which is a ball I've wanted for a while. Tied my high my first day with it and it is an absolute PERFECT fit for my limited arsenal. Saved about 100$ over buying one from a shop.
I wouldn't say aiming for a specific ball is reliable, but I think if you put effort into your personalization note they will ship you something that really does fit.
Very happy with my purchase. The concept of the mystery box brought a little excitement to the purchase. The ball itself is one of the newer track balls and it fits well into my arsenal.
I've seen a few people get a particular newly released ball through the Surprise Ball. So I took a gamble.
Did I get what I hoped I would? No. Did I get an awesome ball regardless? H*ll yes! Am I happy? Absolutely. The ball I get is a strong performer and definitely would have cost more than $99 at a pro shop. Can't wait to get it drilled and take it out.
