Details

The DV8 Double Trouble is built for bowlers who want easy length through the front of the lane with a strong, eye-catching finish downlane. If you’re looking for a ball that clears the heads effortlessly and responds hard when it sees friction, this one lives up to its name.

Wrapped in HK22 – Havoc Pearl, the Double Trouble is designed to create added push through the front part of the lane while still delivering a sharp, confident backend motion. The pearlized formulation stores energy exceptionally well, allowing the ball to stay clean up front and unleash that energy when it reaches the breakpoint.

At the heart of the Double Trouble is the Dualistic symmetric core, providing a stable, predictable motion through the midlane. The symmetric design keeps the ball readable and controllable, making it easier to blend transition while still offering the pop bowlers want when opening up their angles.

Finished with Crown Factory Compound, this ball is tuned for length and responsiveness. It’s ideal for medium oil conditions or as lanes begin to break down, when stronger solids start reading too early and you need something that will get downlane and turn the corner with authority.

The result is a performance profile that delivers clean length with a strong backend reaction — making it a great option for bowlers who like to create angle and see the ball finish hard through the pins.

If you’re ready to add a dynamic, high-energy piece to your arsenal, the DV8 Double Trouble is built to bring exactly that.

This ball will be overlooked, but it shouldn’t be

The DV8 Double Trouble has been a very solid piece for me in early transition conditions. Mine is 14 lbs drilled 60 x 4-1/2 x 30 with the box finish.

Compared to the original Trouble Maker line, this one feels noticeably stronger overall with a more defined backend motion. It still clears the fronts well, but it has enough midlane presence to keep the reaction from feeling too skid/flippy. Once it finds friction, it makes a strong continuous move that’s exactly what I expect from a stronger shiny symmetric ball.

For me, it really shines during that early transition phase when benchmark solids start to lose some energy but the lanes aren’t burned enough for weaker equipment yet. The shape is clean, predictable, and very usable without feeling overly sensitive.

I also think this ball has flown under the radar a bit because it carries the DV8 name. A lot of bowlers overlook DV8 releases, but this one deserves more attention than it’s getting. It’s a versatile modern symmetric with plenty of hitting power and a very usable motion on house shots.
