The DV8 Hater Pearl brings fierce follow-up energy to the Hater line, designed as the perfect complement to the original oil-loving Hater Solid. Built around the same aggressive Hater asymmetric core, this ball now comes wrapped in the high-performance HK22C – Havoc Pearl coverstock, delivering a cleaner look through the fronts without sacrificing power downlane.

Designed for medium to heavy oil, the Hater Pearl stores energy exceptionally well and unleashes a strong, angular motion through the mid-lane and pin deck, making it surprisingly strong for a shiny ball. It’s the kind of reaction that stands out—sharp, controlled, and punishing in the best way possible.

Whether you’re transitioning out of the solid or looking to dominate tricky patterns, the Hater Pearl makes the lanes—and your competition—look easy.

This sequel was a box office flop

The DV8 Hater Pearl unfortunately just never matched up for me. Mine was 14 lbs drilled 45 x 5 x 24 at the box finish, and I also spent time with the 15 lb version with similar results.

The name ended up being pretty accurate for my experience because I honestly hated this ball. No matter what I tried, I could never get a consistent shape or reaction out of it. For my game — around 375-400 revs with fairly matched speed — the ball either pushed too far without continuing properly or gave me a reaction that just didn’t look usable.

What made it more disappointing is that I was actually a fan of the original Hater. That ball gave me a much better combination of motion and continuation. This release just never captured that same look for me and felt like a major step backward.

Every bowler matches up differently, but this one was a miss in my arsenal. The original Hater was a hit — this sequel felt more like a box office flop.

This ball is no joke.

Hate all you want, but this ball is fire for me. Received this ball as a surprise ball and coincidently its been on my radar ever since it came out. Very happy with this ball so far. If you are looking for a strong sharp backend pearl, this is the ball for you. Great colorway as well. DV8 has been knocking it out of the park lately. I'm a one handed low rev, speed dominant bowler. You def don't need to be a 2 handed bowler to roll these balls.

Wow! This one is a pin hater! (With Photos)

I received the Hater Pearl in a mystery box for my wife, who needed a big asym. This one did not disappoint! It plays down-and-in extremely well. It's big. It's strong. It's chuggy. And it really hates pins. I have to admit that I'm jealous of my wife for getting this one! If you have slower speed, no revs, and liked the Ebonite Emerge Pearl, then this is a great ball up for you.
