Details

The most iconic name in bowling just changed the game again. Introducing the Black Widow Tour V1—a bold evolution of the legendary Black Widow line, built to deliver a whole new level of performance. For the first time ever, Hammer has reengineered the iconic Gas Mask core, removing the flip block and lowering the differential by over 20 points. The result? A unique motion within the Widow family—smoother, more controlled, yet still packed with the devastating power and continuation bowlers demand.

To complete this revolutionary design, the Tour V1 is paired with Hammer’s most advanced coverstock: the HK22 – Aggression Hybrid. Finished at 3000 grit, this surface blend provides exceptional traction and midlane read without sacrificing the explosive backend motion that has made the Widow line a legend. The combination makes the Tour V1 a versatile powerhouse that thrives on a wide variety of lane conditions, from league play to the most demanding tournament patterns.

This isn’t just another Widow—it’s a new chapter in dominance, offering bowlers a controlled yet commanding reaction that sets it apart in the lineup. The Black Widow Tour V1 is the must-have release of the season for anyone serious about raising their game.

Solid ball, but I could never get it to roll consistently

The Hammer Black Widow Tour is clearly a well-built, high-quality piece — the cover is strong, the core is proven, and the overall motion should check a lot of boxes. And on the right day, it really does show flashes of that classic Widow strength. When it read the lane correctly, the hit and continuation were excellent.

But for me personally, the reaction was just too inconsistent to trust. Some games it looked fantastic, and other games it felt like I was trying to guess what ball I had in my hand. I could never quite dial in a shape that matched my eye or my release, even after trying different surfaces.

Overall, it’s a good ball with plenty of potential — just not the right match for my game. Still worth trying if the Widow line typically fits your style, but for me, it never earned a permanent spot in the lineup.

My first Black Widow, an instant favorite!

Finally got mine back from my PSO after receiving it from Bowling World on release day.
The first couple of games weren't spectacular, which happened to me with the Effect Tour, too. But I took it to league the next night and WOW! It was an entirely different ball, just like how the Effect Tour suddenly changed after breaking in the coverstock.
It instantly made itself a permanent addition to my league bag for the season along with the aforementioned Effect Tour and Jackal Onyx. All three balls are highly recommended!
I'm a 158 average in league, but all three of these are rolling 200-225 for this thumb-in, lefty, at 14-16 mph, with ~200-250 revs.
