Details

The Radical Torpedo Direct Hit is built for dry lanes and spare shooting, delivering smooth, controlled motion with precision accuracy. Featuring our newly formulated Low Friction Cover (LFC), this ball minimizes early hook, allowing for effortless length and a predictable, straight-line reaction when you need it most.

While it shares the same dynamic asymmetric core as the original Torpedo, the Direct Hit is fine-tuned for low-friction performance, making it an ideal choice for drier conditions or a reliable spare ball. Whether you’re looking to stay in play when the lanes dry out or need a spare ball with exceptional control, the Torpedo Direct Hit is ready to deliver.

Why Choose the Torpedo Direct Hit?

Low Friction Cover (LFC) – Designed to resist early hook for maximum control.

Torpedo Core Technology – Delivers consistency and predictability on any lane condition.

Perfect for Dry Lanes – Maintains length and control when friction increases.

Reliable Spare Ball Option – Straight-line accuracy for converting key spares.

Perfect for rev dominant bowlers

Me: 2H lefty, 400rpm, 15mph (on the monitor downlane), low tilt, medium rotation.

Layout: 4x5x3 PAL - 4x5x3.5 2LS - 70x4x40 Dual Angle

Cover Prep: Knocked the polish off with a green scotch brite, no sanding.

Thoughts: Ball rolls better than expected. First few shots outs of the box hooked a ton, then it settled down. Makes me think the cover may be some sort of modified urethane reactive, but that's just a guess.

The ball is very comparable to my Magenta Rhino and Storm IQ Tour in terms of overall strength/board coverage. Much weaker than my Roto Grip Clone and Radical Katana Assault, by around 8-10 boards overall.

Ball is clean through the heads, just enough mid lane to give you the sense it wants to hook, and a nice quick but smooth motion down lane. Ton of flare. It's a motion you won't see from the typical lower/mid tier symmetric ball, that the Direct Hit will be alongside in your bag.

This isn't the normal weak and sharp burn ball. The DH will be a great ball on fresh to transitioned lanes for rev dominant bowlers, especially lower speed 2 handers... and I'd guess low speed bowlers in general. Finally an asym shape for bowlers who can't usually control asym balls.
