The return of the Hot Line made waves with the Typhoon—but when bowlers needed more traction to handle increased oil volume, the answer was clear. Meet the Monsoon. Featuring Reactor™ Solid coverstock finished at 2000-grit Abralon®, it creates a larger footprint for added control and confidence on more oil. The Atmos A.I. Core delivers the ideal balance of length and continuation, producing a reliable motion at the breakpoint. Ideal for competitive bowlers seeking consistency and control, it’s also a great option for seniors and youth looking for high-performance technology in lighter weights.

Needed surface adjustment

I’ve really liked the reaction from the Storm Monsoon once I got the surface dialed in correctly. Mine is 14 lbs drilled 80 x 4 x 30. I started with the box finish, but eventually adjusted it to 4000 grit and the reaction became much more usable for me.

The first time I threw it was on a pretty burned-up house shot and the ball actually read much earlier than I expected. It hooked a lot more overall and wanted to pick up too soon, which made it tougher to control downlane.

After taking it to 4000 grit, the shape really settled in. The ball still reads the lane well, but now it’s much smoother and more controlled through the pocket without overreacting to friction. It blends out transition nicely and gives me a very predictable motion when the lanes start to break down.

For bowlers looking for a cleaner, smoother transition piece that doesn’t jerk off the spot, this ball can be very good once the surface matches your environment.
